SPS (Small Polyp Stony) Corals. Usually, these corals are either branching or plating, and consist of a calcareous skeleton covered in small polyps. SPS require a greater care level and are not recommended for beginners. SPS corals will thrive in high lighting, low nutrient systems and benefit from the feeding of trace elements and amino acids.
